Misc. Family Stuff

In January Doug & I started working at Foothill on call-part time, where Louise and other family has worked. It is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation Center. We are SACAs (Substance Abuse Counselor Aides) - which means we do the stuff almost no one wants to do - admitting and discharge paperwork, drive clients to appointments and AA/NA meetings, collect UAs, etc.
Other than that ... let's see, Doug goes to ball games at the Y and works in the yard, honey dos and daddy dos. I have been a docent for a art display at BYU Museum of Art on Christ's life, and volunteered for Education Week. We both have church callings and have been on some family associated trips.
Doug & I hiked up to the Y this year, try to go on walks fairly regularly
As you can see from other posts we have been on a few trips this year.
Will post a few misc. photos here.

Below Dawn is some character from the newest Harry Potter book for her job at the Provo City Library where she is a Reference Librarian

Winterton Reunion 25 Aug 2007

w.

Doug & I attended the Winterton Reunion this year. I only took a few photos, but there were many people there, about as many Andrus's as there were Wintertons.

July Family Reunion

In July Doug was in charge of the Andrus-Winterton Reunion. It was held at a Park off the old highway to Springville. Doug hired a clown to entertain the kiddies and Mel - friend of Roy Rogers and Gene Awtrey to entertain the adults. Earlier in the day several of the family went to 7-Peaks or visited at Louise's.

October Trip to Pullman, British Columbia, Montana, Idaho

Louise, Doug & I invited ourselves to go with Ken and Colleen to see Milo's baby blessed in Pullman in October 2007.

We then traveled to British Columbia (Ken wanted to find fruit in the Okanagan Valley) and back down through Butte to Ken's place and home again. We had lovely visits in the car, with Milo's family and Justin's. We stayed in the "Big House" that Milo tends, went to the baby blessing, stayed with Justin's family 1 night, in a couple of motels, went to Ken's Sheep Sheering supplier, stopped at Ben & Carla's for a short visit etc. We didn't find a lot of fruit, (did find some sour blackberries-see Colleen's face) but had a good time.

April in California

Amber called us in March or April? and said we had 20 minutes to take advantage of a $25 one way flight to CA. So anyway, Guy, Doug, and Audrey went to CA in April.
The three of us stayed with Amber, Guy stayed with Joseph, Doug and I stayed with Diane and Sharon & Jim. We saw some of San Francisco,Alcatraz, Muir Woods, and enjoyed some good visits with all.

Mother's Day Trip to New York City

In May 2007, Amber and her roommate, Melissa, took their mothers, Pam and Audrey, to New York City as a Mother's Day Gift.

We stayed in the Hilton at Time's Square, hopped off and on a site seeing bus, went to Central Park, on a harbor cruise, The World Trade Center Memorial, saw Harlem, lots of other places, ate some New York Cheesecake, shopped etc. etc. Thank you Amber and Melissa!

September at the Bean Soup with the Folks

In September Doug & I went to Beaver Springs, Pennsylvania to stay with Heather, Brad, Scott, Cody, and Cheyenne.

Heather wanted us to come in September instead of Christmas time to go to the Bean Soup Celebration in McClure. It is a celebration of a reunion of Civil War Veterans, first held in 1891. They have bean soup cooked in open kettles, a carnival, musical performances, civil war re-enactment, fireworks, etc. About 75 thousand people attend - according to more than one web site and McClure is a tiny town.

Heather and I helped Kay make apple dumplings to sell at one of the food stands We went to the Bean Soup several days, saw the fireworks. We also went to a community fair, Heather and I shopping to our favorite spots - the used book store, and our secret places in Sellinsgrove. Doug and Brad went on some jaunts also, and we watched Cody and Cheyenne ride their bikes. We went to church with the family to the church a few doors from them - can't remember the denomination at the moment.

Tucson Trip

I, Audrey, went to Tucson to have a reunion with five other high school friends - 4 Horizon Club friends (Diane, Leslie, Nancy, and Kathy) and one Girl Scout (Sherril). This happened the first of November. Sherril arranged for a Bed and Breakfast place all to ourselves.

We enjoyed seeing each other again, saw the sites, talked, shopped, played, did yoga, had facials and massages, ate, Crocheted, Knit.
We appreciated Sherril for putting it all together

It was good to see everyone!
